I first met Marie at one of her presentations. It was obvious she had a special skill and is really a genius with the voice. I had a performance coming up at the Folk Festival in Albuquerque with my harp and storytelling. I needed help with my voice . . . .  due to a stroke five years ago. I hired Marie to coach me . . . . I am really glad I did!

She had me doing breath awareness and breathing, helped with emphasis in some stories and general presentation ideas which I used. Besides that, at the performance she even came to help with the acoustic setup. This was a successful event, the voice held up smoothly. I had no idea that I had a beautiful voice. Music had been blocked for me since childhood when I couldn’t sing as high as the girls or as low as the boys. After each class I felt a sense of joy and flow that I didn’t know I had been missing. I signed up for the class to address the vocal tension and stress I felt when teaching workshops. Also I thought it might help with my hearing loss. I’ve already noticed when teaching class I have more confidence and there’s more flow to my voice. Following radiation treatment for breast cancer, my vocal chords, diaphragm and chest muscles were stiff. My speaking voice was reduced to little more than a whisper and I could no longer sing.
